Laissez-Faire
Laissez-faire parents are laid-back, carefree, and nonchalant about parenting. Their free-spirited approach to parenting is caused by a deep belief that children should run free, think for themselves, and be allowed to grow without too much interference from strict, limiting policies, rules, and customs.

Authoritarian
Authoritarian parents are typically defined as strict parents. They are the most demanding of the parents, and they do not respond to their children's requests for an open dialogue. They set rules and punish their children in an effort to obtain obedience.

Indulgent
Indulgent, or permissive, parents are extremely lenient. These parents avoid confrontation at all costs. While the parents are very nurturing, they fail to set boundaries for their children, so their kids do not learn important rules. Parents who follow this method of parenting were often brought up by authoritarian parents.

Playful
Playful parents are the ones who get on the floor and tumble with their kids, read to them in funny voices, and live with one goal: to make their children laugh. They often hold parties in their homes, which will eventually become the 'hangout place' for all of their children's friends throughout their childhood.

The Scheduler
These parents are often very demanding when it comes to their children's lives and expect only the very best from them in every way possible. They've filled up their children's schedules with soccer practices, violin lessons, academic summer camps, and foreign language classes, and are usually also very involved in their children's schools.
