How Will You Act When You're 80?

You can't wait to turn 80, because it will finally give you an excuse to sit on your porch and yell at all the kids in the neighborhood. 'Turn down that music, and get your baseball off my lawn! No, I don't want to have a block party!' You revel in the chance to finally say all the things you've been thinking about those pesky neighbors. The beauty is, once you're 80, no one can get mad at you for it. Enjoy your freedom!

There may have been a time when you were social, but those days are long gone. You are now contented to sit inside and watch reruns of Matlock and The Price Is Right. A nice cup of tea and a warm blanket are all you need to be happy. You may still visit with family occasionally, but friends are a distant memory. The biggest event of your day is walking outside to get the mail. Enjoy your solitude, old timer!

If it's a quiet summer afternoon, you can bet you'll find yourself out on that front porch sipping on lemonade, and there is most certainly a rocking chair involved. You don't make a lot of fuss about anything, and you've always been pretty laid back. Now that you're in the twilight of your years, you plan on enjoying it quietly. Maybe that special someone is rocking next to you, but no words need to be said. Just continue to enjoy the slow creak of your chair and the gentle stirring of ice cubes in the glass, so peaceful.

Life may have quieted down over the last few years, but that doesn't mean you've forgotten about your friends. It will always be important to you to meet up with the gang and keep in touch. Since you're 80, the best way to do that is to start a bridge club and go to Bingo at the community center on Sundays. It's no crazy party, but it's still nice to get out. Your friends have always been important to you and no amount of time will change that.

Youthful and energetic, age is just a number to you and always will be. Whether it's playing shuffleboard or diving into the pool, you're going to be the life of your retirement community. You never get tired of meeting new people, trying new things, and stirring things up. You've never stopped traveling and enjoying life as much as possible. Just because you're 80 doesn't mean you can't have any fun!

Who said anything about turning 80? As far as you're concerned, you're still a youthful 65. A little hair dye to cover those grays and it's out on the town for you. You're never too old to party!
