Esprit
The clothes were super fun, but the real fashion trend set by Esprit was the fresh face. While everyone was piling it on with shovels, Esprit models always looked like they just walked in from a cool, brisk walk. They had dark lashes, rosy cheeks, and fresh lip color, but what they didn't have was loads of base, primary-color eye shadow, or anything obviously outside of nature--except, of course, the lipstick. Search 'vintage Esprit ads' and see the look for yourself!

Stirrup Pants
Okay, okay, so they might seem a little weird, but they were a LOT more flattering for the average body than today's leggings. They also went with a myriad of looks from fun to glamorous. They skimmed over your trouble spots (like saddlebags or thunder thighs) and made everyone's legs look sleek. Bring them back!

Fun Skirts
Skirts in the '80s came in so many different looks: bubble skirts; mock tutus; long, plaid blanket skirts for winter; prairie skirts; you name it. There was a skirt for every persona that you wanted to emulate. If, one day, you were having wistful thoughts of strolling through a field of daisies, you could don a prairie skirt. If it was New Year's Eve and you felt like Judy Jetson, there was a metallic-silver skirt for you. Bring back the fun!

Swatch Watch
Swatches were so cool that people wore them in their hair as headbands. There was a pattern for every look or every personality. If you were feeling bookish, you could go with a paisley face and a red-and-navy split wristband. For a day at the beach, a white face with a clear-blue band. Whatever! Wear three at a time, just for fun, or wear several as a belt!

Eastland Boat Shoes and Camp Mocs
Eastlands are still popular in some places, but they were a go-to shoe back in the '80s. Like Sperry's or Bass loafers, they were ultimate prep--winter OR summer. You'll be SO glad you brought them back!

Jordache Jeans
If you're going to have bling patterns on your derriere, make them fun. Jordache were high-waisted jeans that were made to complement a woman's figure and make her legs look EXTRA long. The pockets were slanted in, to give curves to girls who needed them, and long, to slim the girls with curves a little bit where needed. As long as you bought a flattering size, they looked great. Try them out and see if it's something you could bring back!
