1. You receive an invitation to a 'fancy-dress ball' for this Saturday evening. There's nothing to indicate who the host is. What's your reaction?
Astonished. I don't know very many people and I can't imagine who among them would send me such a thing.
Amused. I wonder if it is actually an advertisement for something, in the guise of a party invitation.
Delighted. I telephone five or six of my closest friends immediately to see if they have received the mysterious invitation, too.
