2. You read the invitation more closely. It invites you by name and someone to accompany you, described generically as 'plus one.' What do you think?
I have no idea who to ask to be my 'plus one.' (Although I don't really think I'll go, anyway, so it doesn't really matter.)
I'll take my spouse (or my current romantic partner, if I'm not married).
How will I ever decide who to take? My spouse or partner would enjoy it, sure, but what about my best friend? Or my other best friend?
