Make A List, Check It Twice
This is the simplest way to figuring out your style. All you do is sit down in a quiet room (very important) and answer some questions. What music do you listen to? What do you like to do for fun? What stores do you actually REALLY love to shop at? When someone else is dressed in a certain way, do you feel jealous of their outfit? Once you answer enough questions, you'll get a clear perspective of your style.
Go On A Mini Getaway. . . ALONE
Yes, it sounds crazy, and it certainly is, because everyone goes on a mini getaway with a romantic partner, or a group of lifelong friends. You know, other people! But by going alone, this is a way for you to hit pause on your life, prevent distractions and influence, and fully dedicate time to simply. . . figuring yourself out. It's relaxing, being selfish for just a day or two.
Dedicate A Month to Figuring Out Hobbies
That's right, hobbies! They may not seem like much, but hobbies are what we do when we just want to unwind. They are the things we do because we want to, not because we're being paid to do them. So, they say a lot about us. If you like to garden, you're probably nurturing, or you enjoy nature, and maybe even go hiking sometimes. Or you eat healthy. You get the idea.
Use Meditation
It may seem strange, but meditation is a great way to just hit pause. It's a bit of a reboot for your mind. And the objective is to focus on your breathing and keeping your mind clear. If it wanders, you just rein in the thoughts and go back to blank. Ten minutes a session is all you need to feel lighter, feel more relaxed, and focus enough to figure out your style.
