14. Imagine that you're visiting a foreign country and a taxi driver is driving you to your hotel. The taxi driver insists that he knows a faster way to get to your hotel than the route you've suggested. What do you do?
I hand him my printed out driving directions and insist that he follow them to the letter.
I become angry and get out of the taxi, hoping that the next taxi driver I flag down will be more compliant.
I argue a bit and then give in. He knows the area better than I do, so he probably knows what he's talking about.
I sit back and enjoy the ride. Why would I argue with a local?
