Technically, Calypso is a girl's name but it can be a super hip name for an unusual dude. Calypso is both a dance and a nymph from Greek Mythology. The dance is as funky as ballroom dancing gets and is kind of like a Caribbean salsa.

Okay, so it's a cheesy joke, but think about it - if you tell this pet to 'sic-em', it will come out as sycamore. Haha? If you don't like that idea, make up your own humorous name. Puns are fun so think about puns related to your pet's activities, breed, or animal type.

Frank is another word for sincere. Granted, it's on the 'a bit too honest' side of sincere, but truthful is truthful and it is also often loyal. You can usually count on your pets to see you as you really are and love you anyway.

Calyx is a protector. If your animal protects you either physically or emotionally (or at least it thinks it does) this is a great name. The calyx is a part of a flower that protects the bud before it opens. For instance, once a rose has become a rose, the calyx is the green star-shaped part under the flower that supports the flower on the stem.
