Many of these countries are destabilized and need our military presence. We'd be leaving civilians vulnerable to regimes, and ultimately have to return to protect their freedom. It's our responsibility to keep them safe. Military occupation is straining our resources and racking up debt. Our main priority should be to leave. We need to rebuild and protect the cities we've destroyed, provide basic education, and create infrastructure. But this requires a grassroots approach, working with local people. Our occupation often has nothing to do with protection and everything to do with money and shady political dealings. We need to leave for ethical reasons. Bring our soldiers home. ▶ Next Question ◀
