2. You're at a playdate, and a two year old toddler is hitting your two year old toddler. The mom is chatting away with another mother, and hasn't noticed what's going on. What do you do

I get up and leave angrily, but not before giving the mother a piece of my mind. People need to watch their kids. I approach the kids and gently remind both of them that hitting is wrong, and then diffuse the situation by giving the kids new toys to focus their attention on. I get the mother's attention and fill her in on what's happening so that she can handle her child herself. I pick up my child and quietly move him away from the hitter.
