12. Your child's father just let you know that he has to work, and can't make it to the orientation meeting for the parents of incoming preschoolers. What do you do?

I tell him the statistics regarding uninvolved fathers and underdeveloped self-esteems and ask him to reevaluate his priorities. I feel disappointed, but if he's not there, that means I can gossip and 'girl-talk' with the other mothers after it's over. I record the meeting on my phone so he and I can go over it point by point when he gets home. I make a huge fuss, and demand that he tell his boss how important this is.
