'Milquetoast' is an old fashioned word from way back when that meant 'feeble, insipid, bland. ' A milquetoast was so far below assertive that they would offer to do what they thought an assertive person would want them to do before that person even thought about what they wanted.

Kind of wimpy
You're not completely hopeless, but you really should stand up for yourself A LOT more often. Not only that, you could stand to make your wishes known now and then. And just go ahead and delete 'I don't care' and 'whatever you want' from your list of pat answers to common questions.

Not assertive
You're not assertive, but you aren't a wimp either. You're just kind of hanging around. Maybe you're completely apathetic. That's probably great for your overall stress level, but why not do some things on purpose to increase your happiness?

When push really comes to shove or if someone is threatening one of your loved ones, you can rise up and show some assertiveness. In the day to day, however, you might let people get away with more than they should.

Assertive
You are just the right level of assertive. You aren't mean or rude. You know exactly when it's appropriate to put forth your wishes or to defend yourself or your loved ones. You also know when and how to take charge if the situation warrants it.

Rude
You are on the too assertive end of the spectrum. People may have told you that you are rude or pushy or worse. Being assertive is important in some situations, but being considerate can be equally important.
