I tell myself that I'm just being insecure and keep the medal. The judges know best. I have the medal cut into two pieces and offer half to the other competitor. I bring it up with the judges and ask them to reconsider. I give the whole medal to the other competitor. I shrug it off. I'm not here for the medal anyway.
