23. The stranger has gone, and the other two women also turn to walk away. But before they leave, they turn and bless you. What do they do?
They sprinkle me with spring water and say, 'This is the water of our spirits, so may you be blessed.'
They offer me a small piece of bread and say, 'This is the bread of our life, so may you be blessed.'
They place a piece of glowing coal from the fire into a shell and hand it to me, saying, 'This is the fire of our hearts, so may you be blessed.'
They smear my forehead with blood and say, 'This is the blood of our passion, so may you be blessed.'
They fold their hands in prayer and bow slightly to the four directions and then to me.
They kiss me gently and hand me flowers.
