A building
What type of building is up to you. It could be designs for a straw hut or treehouse you could build right now in your backyard. Or, it could be a 50 story skyscraper. Your beginning sketch might just take a few minutes, but keep at it and do a second full drawing with detail and take it slow. You could come up with some super awesome architectural design!
Cartoon character
But not one that already exists. Try to break away from drawing it like other people draw cartoons. Be original! You could introduce the next big thing in animation if you create your own style. Try just quickly drawing a few cartoon characters and see what is different between the way you draw and the way other cartoonists (like comic book style or anime artists) are different. Then draw the cartoon character again with more attention to your own personal style.
Alien world
Dream up your own planet. What is it like? What kind of creatures or humanoids live there? Really think about it. They don't have to look like what we think of when we think of aliens. Like, if your planet is super cold, the humanoids that lived there would either wear really warm clothes or they'd have fur. Have fun creating your world and draw more than one picture of it. It could lead to writing a story about it someday!
Working vehicles
Don't just draw any old car - draw a bulldozer or a firetruck or even invent a vehicle that could make someone's job easier. Or, you could do an internet search for types of construction vehicles. Have you ever watched a video of a pipeline trencher, for instance? Get some inspiration from real life strange construction or working vehicles and then think of what you can invent on your own!
Animals in motion
Instead of just drawing an animal, draw an animal in motion. Go find the family pet or look at animals outside. Even insects will do. Look at how they move and what makes them move. Do the muscles look different in different positions? You might even just start out drawing one piece of the moving animal - like different positions of bird wings or how a dog's hind leg muscle looks different from different positions.
Your shoes
Get practice now on the things artists overlook when they're learning to draw. Athletic shoes with laces can be tough to draw when you don't have enough practice. If you draw a few pairs of your shoes, when you later draw a person, that picture will be even better because the shoes will be right!
