Which Redneck Vacation Should You Take?

You should head to every redneck's Honeymoon Hot Spot. Gatlinburg's got the Smokies; it's right next door to Dolly and her folk; and you can sit back in a hot tub with your beer and survey the beauty around you. Plus, who can miss out on a trip to Cooter's General Store? Not the Duke boys, that's for sure.

You've been working hard all year, and it's time to enjoy the high life and be entertained. Branson's got all the great shows located in one convenient spot, and as a bonus, it's located in the gorgeous Ozarks!

OKC is about more than steak and rodeo--and those are both pretty good. They've also got a muddin' play park called Extreme OKC, which has hills, obstacles, and whatever else you can tackle on your four-wheeler. Fans of bluegrass and hillbilly music will love the American Banjo Museum. While you're in OKC, don't forget to check out the BBQ! It's good--especially the smoked bologna (yes, you read that right) at Leo's.

If you want a vacation with a touch of class--country-style class--head to Fort Worth. Have a fine steak in the Stockyards or on Sundance Square and then head over to Billy Bob's for some rodeo, a concert or two, and a little dancing!

When you've had just about enough of the seriousness of life, you need to spark it up with some nonsense. That's when you head to Mountain View's Bean Fest and Outhouse Races. If you need to convince your love or your family that this is a good idea, play up the Ozark scenery, the bluegrass concerts, and the crystal cave tours. Oh, and there's a best-beans-and-cornbread contest, and who would ever miss that?

In a beachy mood? Head to the Redneck Riviera. It gives you white sandy beaches and crystal-blue waters without all of the froufrou nonsense of other beach spots. Go fishing, play golf, and get your seafood redneck style--on a buffet brimming with down-home goodies, like fried green tomatoes.
