What Would Happen to You: Money or Nothing?

The elderly man thrusts the bag back at you, offering it to you. He opens it so you can see it is filled with $100 bills, totalling nearly $25,000. He explains that he was on his way to donate this money, his life savings, to the city's soup kitchen but he has just this minute changed his mind. He wants to give the money to YOU instead. He says that he has been watching you for years, that you are a kind and generous soul, and that it would make him happy for you to have the money. Will you take it?

The elderly man thanks you profusely and offers you $1000! He explains that the bag is filled with his life savings of $25,000. He is on his way to donate it to the city's soup kitchen. Now, he says, he wants to give you this reward for finding the bag, but also as a reward for always being such a nice person. So will you accept it?

The old man opens the bag, takes out five $100 bills, and thrusts them at you. 'Please take this as a reward,' he says. 'I'm very grateful to you.' He explains that the bag is full of money ' his life savings of $25,000 in fact ' that he intends to donate to the city's soup kitchen.

Suddenly, the elderly man turns to you and starts shouting. He seems to believe you have stolen the bag from him! 'That bag contains $25,000!' he shouts. 'That's all my money in the world! Stop, thief!' What do you do?

Suddenly, the teenage bully from the bus swoops in and grabs the bag. Unbeknownst to you, that bag contains the old man's life savings of $25,000. The kid throws his skateboard on the ground and zooms off at top speed. The elderly man was on his way to donate the money to the city's soup kitchen. Now both he and the charity will be deeply disappointed.
