What Will I Be In My Next Life?

100 years from now our planet will be a LOT hotter. Your job will be to design sustainable towns in areas that are now, in 2019, remote wilderness. Those places in the future will be where everyone wants to go. But, we'll be a lot smarter and will plan our living spaces to support the environment instead of depleting it.

100 years from now, we will have fixed our health systems so that preventative healing is more important than suppressing symptoms. A lot of that will happen with technology, but we will also be looking at traditional medicinals and practices that have proven themselves over time. Even now, India is working on promoting Ayurvedic as a legitimate medical practice.

Space. It's the final frontier. And you're going to be driving the wagon. Well, maybe you won't actually pilot a spaceship, but maybe you will! 100 years from now, we'll be investing more in space exploration and you will be participating in that exploration in some way. So enjoy Earth now because in you're next life, you'll be leaving the planet!

But you probably won't be driving a tractor. 100 years from now, most jobs will be automated - either partially or fully. But farming? There has to be at least some human interaction with the plants. As we go greener and are more interested in pesticide-free healthy foods, the heirloom produce market will grow. You might be farming hydroponically on Mars, but you will be farming.

Your next life won't be for at least 500 years. Right now, tons of people are flocking to cities right at a time when the population of Earth is exploding. There will be some relief when we start moving off the planet, but before then, with people living in such close quarters, there will be plagues that decrease the population. By the time you come around again, we'll be breeding with our nearest cousins. So, you'll either be part chimpanzee or part pig. Look up the Salk Institute experiment.

You might be a space pirate, but it's more likely that you'll be a sea pirate. Sea colonies are already being built. It's called seasteading. 100 years from now, we'll have a more socialist economy worldwide. Governments will be more democratic. However, because of computer implants in the blood and eyes, we'll have less privacy. You will long for free market capitalism. This will all turn you to piracy. You'll be the scourge of the seven seas!
