Wood
Sometimes translated as tree, this element is the most yang (mostly good) out of the five. Think spring, the color green, windy weather. It's strong, flexible, warm and generous, with cooperation and idealism in mind. Even outgoing and socially conscious.

Fire
Yang (mostly good) in character, this element is all about Summer, Mars, the color red, and luck. Considered strong and persistence, it's also connected to restlessness. But it's warm, enthusiastic, and creative. . . But this is fire. And fire is aggressive and impatient, perhaps even a little impulsive. In other words, fire can keep you warm, but it can also burn.

Earth
This element is in perfect balance between yin and yang (mostly bad and mostly good). It's associated with the color yellow, and the planet Saturn. People under this sign are thoughtful, practical, hard working and stable. They are nurturing, seeking harmony and rootedness. They can also be very ambitious, stubborn, and responsible, especially with long-term planning.

Metal
This element is yin in character, and is all about autumn, the planet Venus, and the color white. This person is controlling, ambitious, forceful, and set in their ways. They're also self-reliant, and prefer to handle problems themselves. Great at business and organization though!

Water
The most yin out of all the five Chinese elements, water is associated with the planet Mercury, and the moon, the night and winter. People with this element are intelligent, wise, flexible, and soft. But they're also indecisive. Remember, water can be fluid, or weak. Powerful, or just. . . not.
