Empire State Building
It's an outrageous price now (didn't used to be), and the line is long... But it's oh so worth it. The views from above are spectacular. It's a great way to see the city, and surely an amazing date night idea, if you have the time to hang out for a bit up there.

The High Line
This is actually an abandoned rail track on Manhattan's West Side, and it's known for the great view, the food vendors, the sunbathing area, and continuously changing public art installations. It's 30 ft. above street level, making it a good break from the craziness down below.

Ellis Island
This was America's main immigration entry point for 62 years, and most of us have at least one ancestor who passed through here. But if you want to visit and learn more about its history, you have to take a ferry out there to the island. It's in the name after all. Good news: you can research your family while you're there.

New York Public Library
Not only is it great for people who are fans of a particular show where a wedding ALMOST took place here... It's also beautiful. The architecture alone is worth the time. But if you're a reader, even more so. But make sure to say hello to Patience and Fortitude, the two stone lions guarding the entrance.

Times Square
You're going to New York to be 100% touristy. You want the full experience, and you want to experience the crowds and traffic that everyone talks about constantly whenever NY is mentioned. So, why not go to Times Square? That being said, while you're there, you also might as well go to Broadway.
