Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian
The most common type of vegetarian, avoids all types of meat, from chicken to beef, to fish and seafood, but will consume dairy and eggs. This diet allows you to still enjoy hearty breakfasts, and things like pastries, but it won't consume the precious animals you hold dear.

Lacto-Vegetarian
This type of vegetarian doesn't eat any meat, including fish, and won't eat eggs, but will consume dairy products. It's pretty much as close to vegan as you can get, without really going vegan. It also depends: you may consume a lot of dairy. Or you may only have it in certain situations, certain recipes.

Ovo-Vegetarian
This type of vegetarian doesn't eat any meat, including fish. They won't consume dairy products either, but they will eat eggs, whenever raised by egg-laying hens (the ones who are dedicated to laying eggs, and don't get consumed for meat).

Pescatarian
The pescatarian is a nontraditional form of vegetarian, in that they don't eat any meat, but they do allow fish, eggs, and dairy. Allowing meat into their diet gives them more flexibility when going out to eat, but the amount of seafood they choose to consume varies by person. One pescatarian may choose to eat fish once or twice a year, while another may consume it weekly.

The Flexitarian
The flexitarian is the person who is predominantly a vegetarian, but will very rarely indulge in meat consumption. For instance, they may lead a very strict veggie diet at home, or when going out to eat, but when they're a guest in someone's home, they won't turn down the homemade chicken pot pie.
